NEW MEMBERS
Pastor Carl is currently holding New Member classes on Sunday mornings. Those who finish the classes will be received as members on Sunday, May 23 – Pentecost Sunday.
Those who will join are: Bill and Jackie VanMeter, Susan Bereig, Mark, Tammy and Josh Morgan. Please welcome them warmly on the 23rd.
FOOD DONATIONS
The Service and Outreach Ministry Team has announced that they would like the congregation to donate cereal or non-perishable breakfast foods during the month of May. When you bring your food donations to the church, place them in the grocery cart. Thank you so much for helping the local Food Bank.
CONGRATULATIONS
We extend our congratulations to the Jason and Tonya Tost on the birth of a daughter, Olivia Francis Tost. This would be a granddaughter to Bonnie Softcheck. May God’s blessings be upon this child and her family.
HOLIDAY WORSHIP SERVICE
Pastor Carl will be conducting a worship service on Thursday evening, May 27th for those folks who will be away on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. Worship will begin at 7:00pm.
WORSHIP TIME CHANGE
Beginning on Sunday, June 6th we will be moving to our summer schedule. Worship will be at 9:30am. There is no Sunday School during the summer. We encourage you to have faithful worship during the summer months if you are at home. If you are on vacation, please look for a church in which to attend.

This fun-filled day starts with worship, ends with vespers and is packed full of activities in between. Entertainment (Shawn Smith Concert), Quilt Auction, food, nature activities, hiking, hayrides, swimming, children’s games, puppets, clowns, volleyball, campfire and more!

2010 SYNOD ASSEMBLY
This annual gathering for the purpose of conducting the business of our synod will take place at Thiel College on June 17-19, 2010.
The theme for this year’s assembly is, “Global Mission.” The opening worship service will begin at 10:30am on Thursday morning.
Attending this year, representing our congregation, will be Pastor Carl, Chris Decker and Andrea Dubler as the lay voting members. Barbara Carl will also be in attendance representing the ELCA Foundation. Lori Greene will be conducting the synod choir.
The Rev. Kurt F. Kusserow, the synodical bishop, will be presiding at the business sessions of the assembly. Items on the assembly agenda include: the reports of the officers and the Synod Council, the adoption of the 2011 budget, and elections to the 2011 Churchwide Assembly and elections for various committees and boards.
