We Pray
Request
Prayer.
You may
request the congregation's prayers in several ways.
Prayer board. Prayer requests for weekly
worship services can be written on the prayer board,
located just inside the entrance to the church. Simply
write the prayer concern or the name of the person (first
name only unless you have the person's permission to use
the full name) under the appropriate category ( ill,
grieving, military service, joys, or other concerns). The
cause or person will then be lifted up by the assisting
minister during the worship service.
Prayer cards. You may complete a prayer
card, located on the table under the prayer board, and
place it in the prayer box which is located on the same
table. Your request will be offered in prayer at the next
session of Thursday evening prayers.
Call or e-mail Pastor Carl with your prayer concerns.
He will pray for you privately. Or, if you grant the pastor
permission to do so, he will ask that your concerns also be
lifted up by others at St. Peter's at worship or at
Thursday evening prayers. Pastor's office telephone number
is 724-439-4730 and his e-mail address is
PastorCarl9@aol.com.
Pray
together.
We have
opportunities to join with others in prayer.
Thursday evening prayers. On the first and third
Thursday evenings of each month, at 7 pm., prayers are
offered at the church for those causes and persons listed
on the prayer board, for the prayer concerns that have been
placed in the prayer box, and for other concerns brought by
those who gather. Generally, the evening begins with a
discussion of the prayer concerns, then concludes with
prayers for the various concerns. Feel free to attend
Thursday evening prayers at any time that you wish to do
so.
Prayer buddies. Your "prayer buddy" is a
person who will commit to pray for you and your concerns on
a daily basis. You, in turn, will get the name of another
person for whom you will commit to pray daily. Susan
Dzurnak coordinates the prayer buddies. Call Susan at
724-438-8910 to arrange for your own prayer buddy.

Personal
devotions.
Try one or
more of the following to enrich your personal prayer life.
Note the prayer concerns on the prayer
board when you leave worship,
and pray for those people and concerns during the week.
Prayer resources are available at the
church. The devotional book, "Word in Season," is available
on the literature table. The pastor can provide you with
copies of "Prayer Ventures," a monthly publication which
lists daily prayers for various ministries of the
Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
The church is open for prayer on most days.
Feel free to
come in to the sanctuary to pray.
